FILLER CORRECTION & REMOVAL

£100 - £275
Dermal filler dissolving refers to the process of breaking down and removing hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This procedure is often done when a filler treatment leads to an undesirable outcome, such as asymmetry, lumps, overfilling, or complications like vascular occlusion (blockage of blood vessels). How Dermal Filler Dissolving Works: 1.Hyaluronidase Injection: Hyaluronidase is injected directly into the areas where the filler is placed. The enzyme works by breaking down the hyaluronic acid, the primary component of many dermal fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, and Belotero. 2.Rapid Breakdown: Once injected, hyaluronidase acts quickly to dissolve the filler, with results visible within 24 to 48 hours. 3.Multiple Sessions: Depending on the amount of filler and how much needs to be dissolved, more than one session of hyaluronidase may be required to achieve the desired result. Common Reasons for Dissolving Fillers: •Overfilled areas: If too much filler is used, resulting in a "puffy" or unnatural appearance. •Asymmetry: When the filler is unevenly distributed, causing one side of the face to appear different from the other. •Lumps or bumps: If the filler creates lumps or nodules under the skin. •Migration: Sometimes filler can move from the original injection site to other areas, causing an uneven look. •Vascular occlusion: In rare cases, filler can block a blood vessel, which is a medical emergency that may require immediate dissolving with hyaluronidase to restore blood flow. Pros of Filler Dissolving: •Reversibility: One of the key benefits of using hyaluronic acid-based fillers is that they can be dissolved if needed. •Quick results: The dissolving process is usually fast, with results often visible within hours or days. •Safety: Hyaluronidase is generally safe when used by trained professionals, although an allergy test is performed beforehand to rule out any allergic reaction. Cons: •Temporary loss of volume: While the goal is to dissolve unwanted filler, some natural hyaluronic acid in the skin may also be affected, leading to a temporary reduction in skin volume. •Potential for bruising/swelling: As with any injection, there may be mild bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site. •Allergic reactions: Although rare, some individuals can be allergic to hyaluronidase, so an allergy test will be performed before the procedure. Procedure: 1.Consultation: The practitioner evaluates the treated area and determines the amount of hyaluronidase needed to dissolve the filler. 2.Injection: Hyaluronidase is injected into the filler-treated area using a fine needle. The process is relatively quick, usually taking 15-30 minutes. 3.Results: Most people see results within 24 hours, though it can take up to 48 hours for the full effect. Some cases may require follow-up sessions. Post dissolving lots of clients are keen to refill the area, there is a 14-day period post dissolving where we must wait to add more dermal fillers to allow the tissue to heal and the effects of the dissolver to leave the body. Ideal Candidates for Filler Dissolving: •Those who are dissatisfied with the appearance or placement of their dermal filler. •People who have experienced complications, such as lumps, asymmetry, or vascular occlusion. •Individuals looking to reverse their filler treatment for any reason, including overfilling or filler migration.
