PRE CARE

Avoid blood-thinning medications: Similar to anti-wrinkle injections, refrain from taking blood-thinning medications or supplements like aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil for at least a week before your appointment, unless advised otherwise by your doctor. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin tends to respond better to filler injections. Avoid alcohol and caffeine: Limit your alcohol and caffeine intake in the days before your treatment, as they can increase the risk of bruising and swelling. Discuss medications and supplements: Inform your provider about any medications or supplements you're currently taking, as some may interact with the filler or increase the risk of complications. Avoid intense skincare treatments: Refrain from using harsh exfoliants, chemical peels, or laser treatments on the treatment area for at least a week before your appointment.

POST CARE

Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area: Similar to anti-wrinkle injections, avoid touching or applying pressure to the treated area for the first 24 hours after the procedure to prevent displacement of the filler. Apply cold compresses: If you experience swelling or discomfort, apply a cold compress to the treated area intermittently for the first 24 hours. Be sure to wrap the cold pack in a cloth to protect your skin. Stay upright: Remain upright and avoid lying down for extended periods immediately after the procedure to prevent the filler from migrating to unintended areas. Avoid strenuous activities: Refrain from vigorous exercise, saunas, or activities that may cause excessive sweating for the first 24 to 48 hours post-treatment to minimize swelling and bruising. Use gentle skincare products: Stick to gentle skincare products and avoid harsh chemicals or exfoliants on the treated area for at least a week after the procedure. Protect your skin from the sun: Shield the treated area from direct sunlight and UV exposure by wearing sunscreen and protective clothing to prevent premature breakdown of the filler. Attend follow-up appointments: Schedule any recommended follow-up appointments with your provider to monitor your results and address any concerns you may have. By following these pre-care and post-care guidelines, you can help ensure a smooth recovery and achieve optimal results from your dermal filler treatment. If you have any questions or experience unusual side effects, don't hesitate to contact us.
