PRE CARE

Avoid using harsh exfoliants, retinoids, and other potentially irritating skincare products for at least one week prior to the appointment. These products can increase skin sensitivity and the risk of adverse reactions to the peel. Avoid sun exposure: Minimize sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily in the weeks leading up to the peel. Sunburned or tanned skin is more prone to irritation and complications from chemical peels. Disclose medications and medical history: Inform your provider about any medications you're currently taking, as well as any medical conditions, allergies, or past skin treatments. Certain medications and medical conditions may affect the safety and efficacy of the peel. Prep the skin with gentle products: Cleanse your skin with a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser in the days leading up to the peel. Avoid harsh scrubs or abrasive cleansers that can irritate the skin. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. Well-hydrated skin tends to respond better to chemical peels and recover more quickly. Avoid waxing or depilatory creams: Refrain from waxing, using depilatory creams, or undergoing other hair removal treatments on the treatment area for at least one week prior to the peel. These treatments can increase skin sensitivity and the risk of irritation. Plan for downtime: Depending on the depth of the peel, you may experience redness, peeling, and mild discomfort following the treatment. Plan your schedule accordingly to allow for downtime and avoid important events or activities immediately after the peel.

POST CARE

Immediately after the peel, it's crucial to protect the skin from sun exposure. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and wear protective clothing, hats, and sunglasses when outdoors. Sun protection helps prevent hyperpigmentation and reduces the risk of sun damage to the newly treated skin. Moisturize: Keep the skin hydrated by applying a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer regularly. Hydration helps soothe the skin, reduce dryness, and promote healing following the peel. Avoid picking or peeling: Refrain from picking, peeling, or exfoliating the treated skin. Let the skin naturally shed and avoid any aggressive exfoliation that may disrupt the healing process or cause scarring. Limit sun exposure: Minimize sun exposure in the days and weeks following the peel, as the skin may be more sensitive to UV radiation. If sun exposure cannot be avoided, continue to apply sunscreen and seek shade whenever possible. Avoid harsh products: Steer clear of harsh skincare products, including exfoliants, retinoids, and acne treatments, for at least one week following the peel. These products can irritate the skin and compromise the results of the treatment. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep the body and skin hydrated. Adequate hydration supports the skin's healing process and helps maintain skin health. Use gentle cleansers: Cleanse the skin with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser twice daily to remove dirt, oil, and debris without stripping the skin's natural moisture barrier.
